The east of Asturias, the “land of the rising sun”, where the Picos de Europa flows into the sea, houses 22 of our rural hotels that you should know. The east of Asturias means dreamlike landscapes, cliffs, sandy beaches and spectacular coves. In the West Asturian extends between green valleys Somiedo Natural Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. En el occidente asturiano habita el que podría ser el roble más longevo de Asturias, un carbayo de 16 metros de altura y 10 de perímetro. El Carbayón de Tineo asienta sus raíces en el pueblo de Valentín y es desde 1995 monumento natural protegido.

El Asturcón es una raza de caballo rústico asturiano de alzada media, grupa inclinada, pectoral musculado, y cola abundante, que habita en libertad en las montañas asturianas. De origen salvaje, fue domesticado y utilizado para monta y tiro por los astures. Sus orígenes son prehistóricos, apareciendo incluso en pinturas rupestres de las cuevas de Tito Bustillo en Ribadesella y Caramín de la Peña en Grado.

La localidad Sierense de Valdesoto acoge como cada año la representación tradicional de los Sidros y Comedies que tendrá lugar el domingo 10 de enero a partir de las 12:30 en su campo de la iglesia.
